Never Pay To Submit Your Site To Google... Discover How In Record Time Your Site Can Get Listed On Google Using This Easy Step-By-Step Process
In this article you will see just how easy it is to submit your site and get listed on the largest search engine in the world. This is how we personally submit each site, and if you follow these simple steps your site will be listed as well.
1) Select The Right Hosting Company (HostMonster.com)
Selecting the right hosting company can make or break your site. Some hosting companies have been blacklisted from search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and MSN. The hosting company we recommend is HostMonster.com. Host Monster is the best value for the buck. For $6.95/mo you get features such as: free domain, free site promotion, free e-commerce, free sitebuilder with templates, 24/7 support, and $100 towards Yahoo and Google advertising.
2) Build Sitemap.xml (XML-Sitemaps.com)
Building a sitemap is not as hard as some would like to make it out to be. When you know where to go and what tools to use, it is actually quite simple. Begin by going to xml-sitemaps.com, type in your URL (leave everything else the same) and select Start. Select to “Download HTML Sitemap”. Once downloaded, simply upload that to the root directory of your site (may require your webmaster).
3) Directory Listings (DMOZ.org)
DMOZ is the largest and most well recognized open directory on the web. Though we suggest submitting to others, this one will give your site exposure. Simple logon to DMOZ.org, search for the appropriate directory that fits your site, and submit your site by clicking on “suggest URL” at the top of the page. Remember to select the most appropriate category for your site. Because DMOZ is one of the only human selected directory, an editor will review your site and category you have suggested.
4) Write Articles (PRWeb.com)
Write press releases and submit them to sites such as PRWeb.com. This will help build crucial links back to your site. Link Building is like a popularity contest on the web. You want the most popular websites to be talking about your site. The more popular the site is, the more Google/Yahoo/MSN listen. So be sure to pick only the best of sites.
5) Site Submission (Google/Yahoo/MSN)
Never, I repeat never pay to submit your site. It is a complete waste of money and I am about to show you how to do it on you own for free. Because 93+% of all searches are done using Google/Yahoo/MSN, these are the main ones you will want to submit to. First Google.com (http://www.google.com/addurl/), second Yahoo.com (http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/dir/suggest/suggest-01.html), and third MSN.com (http://search.live.com/docs/submit.aspx).
